Everything is automatically controlled by reliable, precision systems to maximise the tractor’s already generous resources, guaranteeing not only tremendous efficiency but an amazing level of comfort for the driver.
The driveability of IRON³ models is enhanced further by a clutchless hydraulic reverse shuttle: this is a device that renders the switch between forward and reverse smooth and effortless, particularly when making headland turns or manoeuvring in restricted spaces.
The shuttle also works on slopes and at speeds of up to 13 km/h and is controlled by a handy lever under the steering wheel, without having to press the clutch pedal.
Thanks to the brand new high-pressure common rail fuel injection system using two wet pumps “embedded” in the cylinder block, and new combustion chambers in the piston crowns, the engine is able to deliver consistently high levels of effi ciency even in the toughest of conditions.
More exactly, the common rail system delivers maximum injection pressures up to 1600 bar, independent of engine revolutions, and this fl exibility combined with electronic regulation ensures excellent torque rise even at low crankshaft speeds.
The instrumentation is generous and easy to read, thanks to a dashboard arranged in three functional sections: one for
gauges, one for warning lights and a digital display section with “Performance Monitor”.
The new IRON3 210 is equipped with the Electric Parking Brake (EPB), the innovative parking braking system that improves the braking of the tractor and provides greater security and greater operating comfort.
The EPB replaces the common brake lever installed on the tractor. The device, driven by an electric unit, is able to develop a maximum braking force of 4000 N.

And then there is the air-conditioned cab, the pneumatic driver’s seat with built-in multifunction armrest console, the high-visibility roof and the front axle with hydropneumatic suspension: all designed for total comfort. Finally, at the heart of the whole range is the latest generation of Deutz engines, the height of innovation brought by SAME to its customers.

Maximum power remains constant over a wide band of engine speeds. So when engine speed drops as a result of increased load, not only does torque increase, keeping traction constant, but specifi c fuel consumption drops too, dramatically improving economy.
In ploughing and heavy trailer work, these characteristics convert into the improved tractive force and elasticity you need for maximum productivity.
IRON tractors have a 4-speed rear PTO (540/540ECO and 1000/1000ECO) with a multidisc oil-immersed clutch with electro hydraulic modulation control.
This means that the tractors can work with all kinds of implements with maximum efficiency and lower fuel consumption.
Any weight variations in the cab, even very slight ones, are read by a special sensor and compensated for by the emission of compressed air into special shock absorbers. In this way, the suspension travel is the same at all times and the springs are used to their full extent.

SAME, continuous innovation
Technological innovation is a gradual conquest, marked periodically by leaps forward in quality. This is just the case with SAME’s IRON “Continuo” model: the latest generation of SAME tractors, featuring an advanced system of
stepless variable transmission. This is the most signifi cant - but certainly not the only new feature - to make this range a real reference point from any aspect. Technically the integration of a mechanical system with a hydraulic
system combines fi rst class effi ciency and smoothness, leading to remarkable advantages: progressive “stepless” speed, exploiting engine power to the full and prolonging the lifetime of the mechanical parts subject to stress.
In driving terms, comfort is enhanced (with a signifi cant contribution from the new suspension and cab soundproofi ng systems) with a consequent increase in productivity.

“Continuo”. A dynamic and classic Italian name sending the message loud and clear: choosing SAME means choosing continuous progress into the future.
With 24-valve timing, the cylinder fills perfectly on the intake stroke, and blending of the fuelair mixture is optimized. Moreover, the design of the cylinder head is such that the injector can be positioned centrally and vertically, directing fuel onto the central area of the piston where ignition typically occurs, and consequently optimizing power and fuel consumption.
The multi-functional joystick makes for easy and intuitive control of all the tractor’s main functions, including acceleration, deceleration, rear lift, control valves and hydraulic shuttle. All controls and devices are clearly identifi ed by shape, colour and logical groupings.
